BIGGEST YEARBOOK CHANGE:
The board has decided that given the current situation, they do not feel it was right to ask for money from our families at this point. So this year we will offer a FREE digital yearbook. Our plan is to make it into a flip book, so that it's like, well, like flipping through a book. This will make it available to all of our families, and if you want, you will be able to have a book printed at your convenience.
Once things are back to normal, we may send in a bulk print order to have books printed for families - given there is enough interest. But this digital copy will allow you to see the yearbook and make that decision at a later date, and not while things are crazy.
It is no doubt that as far as school goes, our seniors have been affected the most by all of this. We will have a special section for our seniors in the yearbook. If you would like to showcase your senior, please send in your favorite "senior" picture and a write up about them, what your most proud of, what their future plans are, so on. You don't have to create anything, just email the pic along with the write up as the body of the email. Be sure to include their first and last name.
DUE JULY 10TH
Because this has been such a big part of our year and all of our activities and field trips were cancelled due to it, we would like to do a special quarantine section. Send in your pics of the fun things you and your family did to pass the time, keep your sanity, or how you tried to keep up with friends and lessons. Even if you don't want to submit a family page, this would be a fun way to participate in the yearbook.
We know there are a lot of things that our families participate in outside of KACH and the home. In an effort to inform you of the different avenues of interest in our area, we want to showcase the places that you support. So if your kiddos participate in music, dance, ninja, taekwondo, art, etc outside of KACH, you can send in a couple of pics as well as the company name and contact info. This is a great way to help those businesses advertise.
If you have pictures from your small group activities, parties, or field trips please email those in so we can show off all that our groups do and the fun that the kids have. Just include the group name and what general activity it is from (field trip, holiday party)...if you can't remember the exact activity.
If you need the details on how to create a family page, click here. The only change is that we will push the deadline to JULY 10TH since we won't be in a rush to get them to the printers. THANK YOU to those who have already submitted a family page. It's fun to see those come in and see our families showcased.
Since we are offering a free digital book, we are going to hold off on selling ad space. Again, the board doesn't feel that it's appropriate to ask for money from our families at this time.
We have a new email! firstname.lastname@example.org
Please send all of your pics and pages to this new email.

The Texas Homeschool Coalition (THSC) put together resources, which are free through May 31st, for those who have found themselves schooling from home during this unique and trying time. You can find resources for all grades here https://coronavirushomeschooling.com/
The THSC is a "coalition of three organizations positively impacts the lives of more than 100,000 home schooling families in Texas." You can read more about them here.
We started this collection of boards in an effort to help share homeschool and family resources with the community at large. Feel free to hope over, give us a follow, and save a few pins!
We know a lot of students (homeschool or not) are spending more time at home than normal lately! Here's a small list of online resources that might help pass the time in a fun and educational way.
There are, of course, many more. If you would like to share a resource, please feel free to comment on this post.
