We are happy to introduce you to the candidates for our upcoming Student Council Elections.  Don’t forget to vote this Wednesday-Friday (the link will be posted on Wednesday morning)

PRESIDENT – The highest elected student council officer is the president. Represents the student body at events, when appropriate. Sets the example for the council members. Creates the agenda, presides over the student council meeting.  Primary contact when advocating to KACH leadership.

Ronald Hill -If I am elected for President I will do everything I can to make council meetings run smoothly and be extremely productive. I will work closely with all other council members to make sure they’re doing their job and help them plan things like events, fundraisers, outreach projects, ect.  A little about Ronald >>>I love to sing, play my guitar, hang out with my friends, play video games, and play with my dogs. I have 3 older brothers, Alex, Toby, and John-Wesley. Currently my favorite subject is Chemistry. I am also a lifeguard at the Typhoon Texas waterpark. Lastly, I am the current Vice-President of the KACH Student Council and I have enjoyed serving these past two years.

Alex Gutierrez – My goals for President, if elected would be, to ensure that the Student Council is running efficiently and properly, to ensure that all teen voices are heard within the organization, along with clear and concise communication with Teen Group and KACH Leadership.  A little about Alex >>>Hello Voter! I am Alex Gutierrez and I have been in Student Council for the past 2 years, serving as Treasurer. I am an only child, and I enjoy being on student council, and hanging out with friends. I feel I would make a great cadidate for the posistions of President or Vice President. Good luck on voting!

VICE PRESIDENT – Preside over council meetings in the absence of the president.Must be knowledgeable about the president’s duties. Plan one (1) regular monthly activity for TAG with guidance of adult leaders. Help other council members.  Oversee two (2) student representatives

Alex Gutierrez – My goals for Vice President, if elected would be, to ensure that we have fun, adventurous, and exciting monthly activities, to ensure that all council members know what they need to get done and help them where ever its needed, along with the two class representatives making sure they are getting out and getting ideas from other teens. A little about Alex >>>Hello Voter! I am Alex Gutierrez and I have been in Student Council for the past 2 years, serving as Treasurer. Emily Weathers –  If elected as vice-president, my goal will be to plan fun, unique activities for the KACH teens, and help guide the student council in an efficient manner.  A little about Emily >>> I am a fun-loving, energetic girl who enjoys singing, dancing, and hanging out with my friends. I also love to write stories and poems. I am a Senior in Girl Scouts, and I enjoy the opportunities it gives me to think creatively and lead others.

TREASURER- Responsible for managing the TAG funds on a spreadsheet with the teen group leaders. Create a budget at the beginning of the year, in collaboration with the adult leaders & revise as necessary.  Present budget status at each student council meeting. Plan at least one large (1) fundraiser per semester (with assistance from adult leadership)

Ashley Wells – my goal is to try and make everyone feel welcome and included to our wonderful teen group!  A little about Ashley >>> Makeup tutorials, drawing, video games are some of my hobbies. I love science I’m the 2nd out of 4 kids in my family.

Emily Weathers – If elected as treasurer, my goals will be to help keep the council budget on track, and plan creative fundraisers throughout the year to help expand the budget for events such as prom. A little about Emily >>> I am a fun-loving, energetic girl who enjoys singing, dancing, and hanging out with my friends. I also love to write stories and poems. I am a Senior in Girl Scouts, and I enjoy the opportunities it gives me to think creatively and lead others.

Madilynn Weathers- If elected treasurer, my goals will be to keep the budget on track so that we are able to do fun things during the school year.  A little about Madilynn >>> I love to draw, read, watch cartoons, and hang out with my guinea pig. My favorite subjects are math and science.

SECRETARY- Responsible for recording student council meeting minutes and attendance. Place a copy in the binder. File minutes in the secretary’s folder on Google drive.  Email minutes to the teen student group. Communicate all TAG events & activities to the teen group.

Zoë Thompson – If I am elected for secretary, I would make sure that all announcements and events are sent out in a timely manner. I want to make sure everyone gets the needed info early enough to put it their calendar. I would make sure all meeting minutes are accurate and sent to the council promptly.    A little about Zoë >>>I am the oldest of three, I have one younger sister and one younger brother. I enjoy helping at my church, playing the piano and spending time with my friends.

Emily Weathers – If elected as secretary, my goals will be to keep lines of communication open on multiple platforms, so that all teens are informed of upcoming events and activities.   A little about Emily >>> I am a fun-loving, energetic girl who enjoys singing, dancing, and hanging out with my friends. I also love to write stories and poems. I am a Senior in Girl Scouts, and I enjoy the opportunities it gives me to think creatively and lead others.

CHAPLAIN – Responsible for opening each student council meeting and other events as asked in prayer. Collect student body prayer requests and share them with the adult leadership and student council as appropriate.  Encourage the student body through faith and biblical truths. Plan at least one (1) service project per semester.

Gabe Weider – I am running for Chaplain. My goals as Chaplain would simply be to become more involved in the Word and with God and to help my fellow council members be more engaged with Christ and what He has to tell us. Another goal of mine would be to assist them in understanding the Word and how God desires us to apply it in our lives.  A little about Gabe>>One of my favorite hobbies is debate, which I have done for almost two years. I have two younger sisters, ages 13 and 11. My favorite subject in school is economics as well as American Government. A fun fact about me is that I hate onions and I hate sour cream but I love sour cream and onion flavored Pringles.

Ella Pennington – if I get elected as Chaplin I would want to make sure that are service projects are fun and helpful to those who need it. I would hope to be able to help in any way possible to any one who needs help. A little about Ella >>> I love to travel. I have been to Australia. I have two brothers. they are both older than me. I love to sing and dance.

MALE REPRESENTATIVE – will work closely with all sub committees.  Responsible for communicating, on behalf of their constituents, to the student council. Assist the Vice President in creating the calendar of events.  Will work closely with all sub committees.

Tison Bailey – If I am elected as student representative I will be available to hear your ideas and bring them before the council on your behalf. I will work diligently to be your voice during our monthly meetings. I will be the liaison that you need for TAG student council!  A little About Tison >>> I am an active Boy Scout of Troop 320 and have held multiple leadership positions such as troop guide and patrol leader. I have participated in multiple KACH Theatre productions and greatly enjoy the program. My favorite subject right now is Biology. I am one brother of three loving sisters. In my free time I like to skate board, play basketball, and play video games.

Landen Pennington – I want to make this group as easy and fun as possible for every member. A little about Landen I love cars, I have two siblings, math is my favorite subject, and one of my hobbies is baseball.

FEMALE REPRESENTATIVE – will work closely with all sub committees.  Responsible for communicating, on behalf of their constituents, to the student council. Assist the Vice President in creating the calendar of events.  Will work closely with all sub committees.

Emily Weathers – If elected as student representative, my goals will be to help keep all sub-committies running smoothly, as well as relaying all troubles, concerns, and opinions of the student body to the student council. A little about Emily >>> I am a fun-loving, energetic girl who enjoys singing, dancing, and hanging out with my friends. I also love to write stories and poems. I am a Senior in Girl Scouts, and I enjoy the opportunities it gives me to think creatively and lead others.

Bethany Porter – My goals are to learn leadership and responsibility. I want to also be welcoming to new people while representing the student council.  A little about Bethany >>> I am the youngest of four children. I enjoy supporting YouTubers with my views while coloring. My favorite subject is history.

Ella Pennington – if I get elected as girl rep. I hope to be of service as I am called to in this position. I will be the best I can be at any job I am elected for.A little about Ella >>> I love to travel. I have been to Australia. I have two brothers. they are both older than me. I love to sing and dance.

Madilynn Weathers – If elected student representative, my goals will be to effectively communicate the opinions and ideas of the female students to my council mates.  A little about Madilynn >>> I love to draw, read, watch cartoons, and hang out with my guinea pig. My favorite subjects are math and science.

Zoë Thompson – If I am elected Girl Representative I would listen to the teen girls in the group and make sure they are being heard.  A little about Zoë >>>I am the oldest of three, I have one younger sister and one younger brother. MEMBER AT LARGE – Will serve in positions of necessity on the council.  Will help where needed for events and activities. May also serve on sub committees. Will help the President to maintain order during the meeting if needed.
